Who is Valley Of The Sun
Arabian Horse Association?
Valley of the Sun Arabian Horse Association was originally chartered in 1965 as the Arizona Half-Arabian Horse Association. One of the original eight members is still an active board member to-day! We represented the Half-Arabian horse owner as well as many of the larger ranches.
In sup-port of the local horse community we sponsored shows, trail rides, endurance rides, lectures by veterinarians and trainers and clinics to aid owners in the care, health and performance of their horses.
In 1971 we established our first “A” rated Arabian and Half-Arabian show and the following year saw the Arizona Futurity come into being. As we grew and spread our wings we changed our name to Valley of the Sun Arabian Horse Association (VSAHA). Today we produce the Desert Classic All Arabian Horse Show which is held each December at WestWorld in Scottsdale. This is an AHA, USEF and USDF recognized show.
During the four days of this show you will see classes in Halter, English Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Native Costume, Working Western featuring reining and trail, Hunter/Jumper, English Dressage, Western Dressage and a full range of Sport Horse Classes. We also offer Academy Classes for riders of all ages who are enrolled in a lesson program and interested in starting their show career.
We invite people of all ages, whether you own a horse or not, to join us in our continued quest for a fun and educational journey into the world of horses.
